So back to our delusional time-traveling bishop, who certainly was not well-meaning. Bishop Ussher’s dishonesty and ignorance about dating are an absolute paradigm for the way Christian scholars have muddied the waters. Ussher was but one of an unbroken and noble tradition in the Church. They knew that they would not be found out provided they pronounced the Jews wrong. We could scarcely expose him as the stake is not a pleasant way to end one’s career.
Ussher’s Agenda
But why did this sad little man create his ridiculous attempt at dating the Biblical events. From where does this battle of the chronology come? Why is the church and secular establishment stuck with a dateline that contradicts archaeology? It also contradicts the absolutely proven Talmudic dating. What difference can it make? The problem is this: the Talmudic view, as represented by a book called ‘Seder HaOlam.’ (The Order of the World [events]) circa 120 CE. As we have said, dates everything about 168 years later than the rest of you. For example, we say Joshua was circling Jericho in about 1270 BCE, you say it was much earlier, 1440 BCE. We say King David was slaying Goliath with his sling about 890 BCE, you say it was 1055 BCE.
The central importance of this lies not in merely knowing precisely when to check your walls for cracks if you live in Jericho or when to duck – if you are a very tall Philistine. These dates become of central importance when considered with the central claim of Christianity. The Date! You will learn when we study this below that the impossible conventional dating system places their messiah – surprise, surprise – ‘exactly’ 483 years after a purported prophecy in the Book of Daniel – of the coming of “The Anointed Leader”.
And that period ends according to Ussher – guess when? Well – it is a bit wobbly – but it is ‘The Date’ – either 00 CE or 06 CE or 29 CE. In other words, the Christians re-invented and misunderstood a sentence in Daniel’s prophecy and found astoundingly that it coincides with ‘The Date’ of ‘The Birth’ – provided you use the bizarre conventional dating system, carefully calculated by one Bishop Ussher.
We Don’t Need To Tamper With The Dating
Now, it is vital to emphasize that we have no interest in destroying conventional dating merely to disturb Christianity’s narrative. We never used Daniel’s prophecy except as part of a long and cryptic apocalyptic message. We certainly do not need to alter dates to validate or dismiss claimants to the role of a messiah – because not one of the pre-requisites for any messianic age has yet occurred.
The Concept of the Messiah in Jewish Tradition
We are the ones who brought the concept of the Messiah to the world. Our literature describes specifically the Messianic signs – an invincible Messiah, world peace, evil evaporating and unanimous mandatory, compulsory and involuntary acceptance. It is inconceivable that anyone would not accept the real Messiah. A new world order and his universal following are absolutely quintessential. Again, the Messianic age is entirely our concept and clearly no one yet has fulfilled the prerequisites. Merely saying that a figure would have achieved all the requirements if only mankind had recognized him is precisely not the point and runs against every description, precondition and criterion. And the absolutely central fundamental requirement is that mankind will have no choice but to accept him!
You cannot set a list of requirements and then abandon them. Yes, the Messiah will come before the 6000th ‘year’ of this epoch with either an Armageddon or blissful spiritual existence for all.
Mystical Writings on Armageddon
Some mystical writings of 2000 years ago discuss the Armageddon in terms which ring true today. They describe a world war between an all-powerful ‘Ishmael’ – the wayward son of Abraham – who today are the Arab nations and an all-powerful ‘Ashkenaz’ – the children of Esau – the wayward son of Isaac – being the nations whose roots were in Europe. Think America and Islam.
Some note that in this Jewish year 5786, we have 214 years left before this must happen – in absolute accordance with the environmentalists’ warning that life will become unsupportable on Earth in about 200 – 250 years. With global cooperation and severe worldwide measures reducing irreversible environmental changes there may be hope. United mankind might control and limit the real killers – climate change, biodiversity loss, biogeochemical flows (nitrogen and phosphorus cycles), land-system change, freshwater use, ocean acidification, atmospheric aerosol loading, stratospheric ozone depletion, and novel entities (e.g., plastics, synthetic chemicals).
But if we continue to squabble and make war on each other – there is simply no tomorrow. And the Armageddon will distract us from even the slim chance of rescuing ourselves.
The Significance of Life and the Torah
So why bother? Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow …. Well, whilst there is life there is always hope and the life that you live, for the short time you have it, is extremely significant – because we have proved the Almighty exists and He gave us the rule book for living – the Torah. Please check elsewhere herein for verification of this. However, to return to dating and messianic predictions – the central issue is that dates or chronology would have made no whatsoever difference to our approach to Christianity’s claims. For the Jews, there is no need even to discuss whether a messianic figure has ‘come’. We have utterly rejected a large number of false messiahs who have made their claims in every century and whom the non-Jews have also rejected.
We have no agenda except that conventional dating is simply wrong. And indeed, the cracks in the conventional timeline are so large that the entire edifice is sliding into the earth. The religious, secular and skeptics are now all retreating under an avalanche of proof, which they themselves are digging up, disproving the conventional system. Innumerable details – dismissed as part of the Jewish scam – have been found in contemporaneous non-Jewish records to be true and to contradict their dateline. There are hundreds of names, places, descriptions of events and people now proving the Talmudic dates and giving the lie to Ussher.
If all these minor details are correct, why do we presume the rest of our dating is nonsense? The lists of these previously mythological, ‘non-existent’ people and places are growing rapidly. Rabbi Hool’s brilliant work, [‘The Challenge of Jewish History – The Bible, the Greeks and the Missing 168 Years’] proves this absolutely and amasses incontrovertible evidence which finally shows that Ussher is wrong and the Talmud is correct.
Evidence from the El Amarna Tablets
Before examining this in detail, I shall give you a taste of the sort of evidence that has been available but deliberately ignored because it would destroy centuries of ‘scholarship’, shred Wellhausenian insanity, boil Bible Cretins alive and rubbish thousands of experts’ confident utterances and careers. As early as 1887, circa 350 clay tablets were found by an Egyptian woman looking for fuel at El Amarna, some 200 miles south of Cairo. They turned out to be a collection of letters received in Egypt by Pharaoh from vassal monarchs in Canaan and adjacent areas. These completely vindicated the Talmudic dateline and completely demolish the conventional. But no one has ever whispered a word as this would be treason.
El Amarna had been Pharaoh Akhenaten’s capital and was called then – unremarkably – Akhenaten. Nearly all the hardened clay tablets were missives to the Pharaoh from his beleaguered vassal states declaring loyalty or begging for military help. They are dated to the two pharaohs, Amenhotep III (1402-1364) and Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), 1350-1334). These fascinating items are in the typical Akkadian script made by wedge shaped styli.
The Warlike Hapirus
The vassal kings’ entreaties fill both sides of the inscripted clay and come from numerous small local rulers, begging for military assistance. Here is one from one King Abdu-Heba:- While the king, my Lord, lives, I will say to the commissioner of the king, my Lord: “Why do you favor the Hapiru and are opposed to the rulers?” ………The Hapiru sack the territories of the king. Each tablet names different and clearly identified enemies attacking the numerous writers. These include all the well-known, usual suspects who were wandering around the Middle East clobbering anyone weaker than themselves – Hittites, Jesubites, Libyanites, Moabites, Ammonites, tourists. The tablets are housed today in three European Museums for your examination and, if they are dated correctly by the secularists, they completely destroy their own conventional dating. The dates given are between 1402 – 1334 BCE and remember each and every aggressor is specifically named.
This was a period when Canaan was under rather wobbly Egyptian rule and the Canaanite vassal kings, the authors of these Amarna letters, had been practically annihilated by this wave after wave of separate international invaders. This is agreed by all the non-Jewish experts. Now, according to Ussher, despite the facts, who was this nasty, vicious, bloodthirsty bunch of land thieves attacking these poor vassal kings? Well, who is always described as a ‘nasty, vicious, bloodthirsty bunch of land thieves‘? You guessed – the Israelites.
Unearthing The Real Invaders
See, the Jews have not changed. City after city was being captured and thousands of poor Canaanites had been driven out. It just had to be the Irgun, Haganah and Palmach. The problem is of course that this was long ago proven wrong by the secular world. The tablets make it clear that these murderous fiends were absolutely not the proto-Zionist Hebrews. Although conventional dating incorrectly places Joshua at this time, the tablets absolutely specifically identify each invader, naming their people and land. Not a word of Herzl, Ben Gurion or short, dark Uzi-carrying strangers with big noses. No one mentions a new people – the Joshua-ites or whatever.
If you or I were a local pagan king in the final stages of being annihilated by a gang of Jews, waving their swords and blowing rams’ horns, I would certainly send a letter of two to Pharaoh, but I would complain about the Jewish Conspiracy – not about invading Hittites, Jesubites, Libyanites, Moabites, Ammonites – in other words everyone except the Jews.
Yet in all the Armana letters to Pharaoh not one mention is made of Jews, Hebrews, rams’ horns or even blue and white flags. Each enemy is a different, identified people, famous for invading Canaan every now and again. In all, there is not one mention of the Israelites – clearly called Israelites in the Merneptah Stele – dated precisely when we place our gradual conquest of Canaan. If there were Jews there, do you imagine the Egyptians would have been shy about naming them? However, to cover all fronts, I deliberately quoted above the one single reference that might possibly refer to ‘H-e-BR-ews’: ‘ “Why do you favor the Hapiru and are opposed to the rulers?” ………The Hapiru sack the territories of the king.’
Hapuri, Hebiri, or Just Nasty North African Neighbors
There are rather spurious theories that these ‘Hapiru’ are the Hebrews. This is based upon a very inconclusive discussion, at fifteenth hand, of the correct pronunciation of the Akkadian/Egyptian consonants H/CH, P/B and R. One suspects that those earnestly searching for a mention of us in ancient times might be being slightly over optimistic. They suggest that Ha-Pu-Ri is really Ha-Bu-Ri which is really He-B-Ri or something.
Further, the alternative transliteration of ‘Hapuri’ means apparently ‘people with the ear hair pieces’ and – before you start getting hysterical – these were definitely the Libyans who wore a ceremonial head dress including side pieces of shaped hair over their auditory receptors. So just forget Shylock and all those, like me, who proudly exhibit the Jewish ear locks. King Abdu-Heba moaning about Hapuri is almost definitely not writing about Jews.
The contradiction within Ussher’s own dates is there to stare you in the face. Ussher-ists cannot explain how the Amarna letters have (as far as they know) no mention of us and also deal with so many other peoples – that also were not there according to Ussher’s dates. And this is the problem. Accordingly to the ‘experts’ all the peoples complained of simply were not there – never mind the Jews. The Hittites, Jesubites, Libyanites, Moabites, Ammonites an’ all are mentioned in the letters – 1402 – 1334 BCE – but not when Ussher dates this. Remember, as far as we are concerned, we were still singing ‘Let My People Go’ in Egypt in 1522 – 1312 BCE. Joshua was a-blowing them rams’ horns only later in 1272 BCE.
Men of Ephraim That Left Too Early
It is true that the Midrash – Sefer HaYashar – does tell of 30000 Jews who left Egypt precipitously in about 1342 and were totally massacred by the Canaanites at Gath, about 30 minutes from where I live today. You could construct a narrative whereby these ‘men of Ephraim’ were amongst those mentioned in the Amarna letters and, contrary to the Midrash, they actually were successful and not killed. But believing the Jews’ tales is forbidden, so believing only half is plain stupid.
So, otherwise, no Israelite even touched the Canaanite soil until 1272 BCE after 40 years in the Wilderness. This allows the Amarna letter writers to be alive, well and in dire peril from the earlier horrible but non-Jewish invaders whom they so graphically describe.
And yet, despite this open self-contradiction – the Ussher dating is sacrosanct and everyone still presumes it to be accurate. This is troubling because even if you ignore our claims and simply examine Ussher’s methods and non-Jewish evidence you must conclude that – (how can I put this politely?) – the verisimilitude of his dates is open to terminal challenge – very terminal!
Ussher Finally Hushed: Rabbi Hool’s Work
Ussher Finally Hushed Last week, we were invited to very old friends for a Friday night meal and the conversation turned to the hostess’s brother who had just written a book on …. the 168 years conundrum! This was Rabbi Alexander Hool, whom I have mentioned earlier. I actually stopped eating – yes, it happened – only for a moment, but long enough to shock my wife. She still mentions it as a unique event.
The volume was brought to the table and I have now borrowed it. Having known the author as a brilliant young Talmudic student many years back, I was delighted to discover a masterly, powerful work, packed with minute detail and evidencing a staggering amount of material. However I was certainly not surprised, because one would expect no less from Rabbi Hool or indeed any member of this illustrious family. My only concern was that he had sacrificed time from his Talmudic studies for our edification. His wife later assured me that he had written the book only during vacation times – over seven years. The work must be read slowly and carefully. But it absolutely must be read. I predict it will become a best seller amongst all honest Christian academics.
Rabbi Hool’s tour de force should change religious history – but the establishment will ignore it. It covers in magnificent detail that which I merely outline by bringing a few of my own examples. Having perhaps read my sketchy account of the 168 years’ discrepancy. you simply must purchase this atomic bomb. Rabbi Hool has painstakingly sifted the mass of evidence he has gathered. He has not cherry-picked but sought the truth, keeping in mind that some very great Rabbinical authorities have expressed doubts that the Talmudic timeline – omitting 168 years – would ever be justified.
Making A Hole in The Flawed Dating
Rabbi Hool did not seek to prove our dateline but rather to explain the discrepancy. He certainly has not searched only for support for the Talmudic version and then produced a carefully-concocted spin on the truth. The deeper he delved, the clearer it became that there was absolute proof based on scientifically (!) verified evidence that the Talmudic dateline is correct.
Bishop Ussher was indeed a bluffer. Rabbi Hool’s proofs are not simply argumentative presumptions – probabilities – woven statistics. He does not merely state that his thesis must be the case because it would be unreasonable to suggest otherwise. Rabbi Hool provides crystal clear facts that cannot be explained in any other way. He exposes the experts’ ignorance of the undeniable. I certainly shall not attempt to provide a potted version thereof but can assure my reader that Rabbi Hool has really closed the debate. I can also again assure you that no one in the establishment will admit this. His work, if he is incredibly lucky, may be kindly dismissed by those whose careers depend on Ussher, as an interesting little piece of supposition. Rabbi Hool’s irrebuttable and absolute proofs are based on non-Jewish established facts. To emphasize this I shall simply list his sources:
Rabbi Hool’s Proofs
- A collection of twenty doubled-dated Elephantine papyri, with Egyptian and Babylonian dates, which provide absolute proof of the unique configuration of consequential lunar months for over 80 years from c 318 BCE – 233 BCE. Quintessentially, this unique pattern fits in perfectly only – only – with the Talmudic timeline and it absolutely does not match any other period. Ussher’s timeline matches it no better than any random set of years! These meticulous records alone prove absolutely the Talmudic timeline. Be certain they will be ignored. The following all decisively and unambiguously support this.
- The Uruk King lists deciphered in the 1960s contradicting the Babylonian kings lists;
- The Text BM 36613 deciphered in 1977 and again in 2004;
- The Alexander Chronicle BM 36304;
- The proven abrupt cessation of chronological tablets by the (conquered) Persians precisely in the disputed period:
- The replacement of these precisely then with chronological tablets by the (conquering) Parthians/Greeks;
- Papyri and inscriptions in Egypt reflecting precisely this co-existence of the Parthians with the now insignificant Persians.
- More Elephantine Papyri containing a dated petition by one Jedaniah the head of the Jewish community in Elephantine to ‘Yehohanan the High Priest in Jerusalem’, – according to Ussher born 150 years later! Terrible postal services in those days. However this petition fits perfectly with the Talmudic timeline and dating of Yehohanan – and, no, there is no other similarly-named relevant High Priest;
But no one is perfect and, unknowingly, Rabbi Hool has made an unpardonable mistake. He has dared partially to use some Jewish sources as evidence!! Imagine suggesting that the Jews can be trusted! He is not aware that no-one believes the Jews – especially secular Jews. I therefore have had to edit out such unreliable, scurrilous and scandalous material in my list. However the secular proof he collates is there for all to see.
Ending Usher’s Dark Ages
Rabbi Hool also establishes, inter alia, the identity of the ‘real’ Darius, Emperor of Persia; the partial co-existence of local Persian and global Parthian rule; the extended artificial use of anachronistic Persian dates and a host of other facts settling the matter. And before anyone ‘knowledgeable’ on this subject starts turning purple and buying a sawn-off shotgun – just buy the book. Importantly, this shredding of Ussher, in no way impinges on the Christian message or narrative. They do not really need Ussher’s insane perversion of the calendar to accommodate the so-called prophecies in Daniel. These ‘prophecies’ were misconstrued by ignorant fantasists.
The fact that Ussher created this mess does not reflect upon his religion or others of his faith. However, Rabbi Hool has proven absolutely and established a dateline that explains why the Vatican has destroyed so many of the Dead Sea Scrolls and thousands of other documents, and solves any number of inconsistencies. This, the Talmud’s dateline, stands proven and authenticated. But I must repeat that this fact will of course be ignored, mocked and rejected by all whose jobs, reputations and grants depend upon Ussher’s puerile lies. Not only therefore is Ussher’s dating nullified, his 500 BCE to 00 BCE history is proven to be insupportable. Ussher should blush.
Ussher’s Influence Reigns
Ussher’s Influence reigns. But we must continue to watch, yawning, as the establishment supports Ussher and conventional dating. Nothing changes. The following is a surprisingly realistic caricature of that which is being played out today somewhere in the Middle East:- Imagine an eager little archaeologist snuffling around in a pile of dust, rocks and bones on a bare slope in the Judean Hills. Suddenly he stiffens and squeaks. His eyes light up. He gasps and then dives into a heap of debris. Moments later, he reappears clutching a dusty crown. He wipes off the dust and it gleams in the sunlight.
Clearly printed on the side is written – “I am the crown of Mr King David, son of his dad, Y’shai, of the United Kingdom of Ancient Palestine like wot it says in the Bible of the Hebrews. Date 30th February 847 BCE.”
It is signed by Theodore Herzl and Ben Gurion and Golda Meir. It just must be genuine. The script is proto-Hebrew and the language Hebrew. Carbon 14 dating dates this indeed at 30th February 847 BCE – two o’clock in the afternoon. The problem is that the non-Jewish ‘experts’ place King David in 1024 – 970 BCE – that 168 odd years earlier. According to them, no King David was wearing any crowns in 847 BCE. He was long gone. King David was stringing his sling and practicing harmonic minor arpeggios on his harp 168 years earlier. Must have done, ’cos Ussher said so.
Will The Real King David Please Stand Up?
So this must a fake made by some nutter living nearly two centuries later. Further, King David really could not exist at all and many experts even today frown knowingly at any evidence of his existence. So, our panting archaeologist is clutching a crown from the wrong period claiming to belong to a non-existent King.
This could not be David’s crown whatever it says on the label. And the experts now have this crown to add to the puzzling mass of evidence of a mysterious later kingdom of some ‘unknown’ king about 850 BCE. This later king, for them, must not be David – even though those crazy Talmudic Jews had indeed dated David’s coronation at 868 BCE. Remember the Jews killed Someone, so they are never right!
And the carbon dating of the crown? Well, we all know that carbon 14 is extremely accurate except when it is supporting the Jews because that is simply not cricket. If the carbon dates of the crown are correct then it must be a fake. 877 BCE is simply too late for David. So we can be sure that carbon dating has suddenly become less accurate – 7% to 20%. Ah, that is better because if you punch into a calculator 20% x 847 BCE you get, hey presto, something near to 1020 – 1040 BCE.
So, obviously the carbon dating is 20% inaccurate here. This crown is indeed from the secular dated reign of David. Phew! Hold on, it had date on it. The wrong date – 30th February 847 BCE. The date the Jews claim. Hmm. Ah yes, this was before Geiger invented his counter or …. it was an ancient typo or … perhaps the manufacturer did not know what year it was or … perhaps Mossad discovered it first?
Ignoring The Obvious Proof
You may ask that how it was that sane men ended up in this situation. It really is too ridiculous to be true. But it is true. They have ignored Talmudic dating which fits in with every find perfectly and stuck, with commendable faith, to a discredited system based on dogma!
