The Mishnah: The Briefest Compendium of the Jewish Oral Law.
In the 1st century, an initial skeletal compendium of the Jewish Oral Law was written down. This first synopsis was the “Mishnah” – the Teaching. It was this that was later the framework of the final gigantic work – the Talmud. It was not the Talmud yet.
The Mishnah is carefully organized and classified. It covers, in its different sections, all civil and criminal laws, as well as religious laws. It comprises about 4500 different short statements of basic law. Each of them on a particular point from 50 to 500 words in length. These are in a clipped style with no explanation and usually quote isolated legal decisions. Each is called “a Mishnah”, as opposed to “The (entire) Mishnah.”
Exploring the Talmud and Gemara: The Debates and Jewish Tradition
The Mishnah was a compilation of conclusions, a terse statement of the dry law. But once the Mishnah had been set down and finalized, our Sages now realized that the entire methodology of Jewish learning was at risk. We faced extinction in the Holy Land. Constantine and Christian Rome were about to annihilate Judaism in Palaestina – if they could – and they could! The few remaining Jews were subject to constant atrocities and banned from Jerusalem. The end had come. What if Rome conquered the entire world? What if Rome conquered Babylon – our diaspora refuge?!
Babylon: The USA of Antiquity
Miraculously, three centuries before Rome was a factor, a vast alternative academic world had been created. It was outside the Holy Land in Babylon. (modern day Iraq) This was because, in fact, the majority of Jews had stayed in Babylon. Despite the Return from Babylon in 350 BCE to build the second Temple. They lived in the most unusual conditions – there was total tolerance. The Early Persian, then Macedonian Greek and finally Parthian Persian rulers generally tolerated or ignored the expanding Jewish population for more than a millennium between 400 BCE to 650 CE. It was like the USA today, except the Jews of Babylon were fervently devoted to their religion, its fullest practice and especially its learning.
The huge Babylonian academic centers, teeming with teachers and students, developed an ever-expanding scholastic prowess. They vibrated with an almost unprecedented devotion to the nation’s single raison d’etre – learning the Torah and Jewish Oral Law. Yet Christian Rome’s drooling slaughterers were but a few weeks’ march from Babylon, so the final Jewish Oral Law was set down between 200 and 500 CE. This was the birth of the written Talmud. At last we come to the text all Christian academics flee before and deny. At last we come to the text that explains your forebears’ persistence and, indeed, your existence.
A Tale of 2 Talmuds
Two encyclopedic versions – the Babylonian and the Jerusalem Talmud – were set down in parallel efforts. In both the Holy Land and Babylon, it was a task involving hundreds of geniuses over several generations. It was the national project, coordinated and pursued to preserve the Jewish Oral tradition and provide a means of training new generations of Talmudic minds. It is note-worthy that this commitment to writing was seen as a national tragedy because this was the admission of the end of purely oral transmission.
Learning the Talmud is also vital in that it provides the methodology of analysis and thought needed to encompass novel situations. How do we deal with questions of Jewish law concerning plastic, aluminum, carbon fiber, nylon, the combustion engine, gas, electricity, air travel, medical advances, mass production methods – we must move with the times. One cannot simply apply common-sense – there would be endless different ways of applying each law. Look how happily Jews will argue about nothing for hours. There would have been chaos – or, rather, even more chaos.
Only if you are saturated in it, can you unravel its onion-like layer after layer of meaning and formulaic logic. For nearly 2000 years, the Vatican and others have tried and failed. Their best attempts are childish word for word translations of the simplest narratives. These are as useless as a musical score to a non-musician. Any slightly complex argumentative sections are closed to them and even the very ‘best’ Vatican experts are utterly lost. Do not check out their websites – they are reeking – today – with seething open antisemitism and hate!
A Wisdom For The Select Few
No untutored person has ever even begun really to understand how to prise open its wisdom. Not even Isaac Newton – who certainly tried hard enough. Yes, millions have mastered the languages of Aramaic and Hebrew. Yet this is as useless as English might be in understanding a 100 page PhD quantum formula written in English!
So, we have some insight into the rock-solid center of Real Judaism. Once he understands the Talmud no intelligent, logical and honest person can even begin to question that Judaism is proven beyond any reasonable doubt. If he is able to follow the terrifying brilliant minds of the polymath Sages and even a minute sample of their argumentation and application of the crystal clear logic they use, he must be humbled before them. The most brilliant of today’s academics, who delve into this world soon regard their quantum physics, higher mathematics or whatever leading field of academic endeavor as child’s play.
I personally know many – including Fulbright scholars, Ist class degree holders from Oxbridge and Ivy League.
The Evidence: Archaeological and Historical Proofs in Jewish History
So now, what of the archaeological and historic undeniable evidence which must inevitably prove our case. This forces the honest and objective cynic into admitting that his cynicism cannot be rooted in logic or judicial proof or evidence. His cynicism is an unalterable state of mind. It is a defence mechanism. Real Judaism will leave him with only his pure blind faith that religion cannot be true. He must cling to cynicism. He dare not relinquish his faith. The Law of Probability rules that he has less chance of being correct than of throwing consecutively six sixes with a dice – that is 1:46,656.
We learnt that about 50000 religions have existed in the past 4000 years. Judaism is the only one with an utterly ridiculous claim that all Jews as a discrete nation publicly witnessed the Revelation at Sinai. Most others claim an unwitnessed revelation to one individual in whom you must have blind faith. Their chances of being followed, yes, by billions, are about 46655:1. Judaism’s chances of surviving is 1:46656. That in gambling terms is nil, zero, zilch. But we are here.
We went through all the ways to explain away Judaism as a scam. They failed. We went through your private journey of 3000 years – also impossible. We proved there is no gap in our tradition.
But a cynic shall remain a cynic – or he is in danger!
Sorry, They Abandoned You: Reflections on Modern Society and Judaism
Today, we all know the simple truth and listen respectfully to the oracles like Noam Chomsky. We nod sadly and agree.
Yes – nuclear war; yes – environmental suicide; yes – selfish humans still destroying each other; yes – all this perpetuated by unaccountable corporations and leaders. And what can we do? Shrug and make another perfected cup of coffee or tea or enjoy tobacco or sugar or some other emblem of the colonial rape of the world which has led us here.
We agree that our planet – or its cadaver – is very honest and is telling us all the inescapable, – ‘You have murdered me’.
So, what is the future? Is there a sensible future? To answer this, we must ask, ‘What was the past?’ It is by now evident that no man-made system works except to the benefit of the oligarchy running it. We see that the greed, evil and selfishness of mankind have signed its own death warrant. The corporations, politicians and wealthiest are determined to prevent any change that challenges their short-sighted avarice and the power lust.
Dying From Permissive Overdose
An example: We all know the story well enough. A sweet little tale. One third of young male applicants to the USA armed forces are rejected because of obesity! One third of the USA is dying from sugar poisoning – morbid obesity, diabetes, lung, liver, heart diseases – all directly because of being overweight. Even more are suffering depression and mental problems because of personal or family obesity. Billions of dollars are lost because of absentee-ism, health costs, indirect losses. And this is to ignore the human suffering.
Obviously these people choose so to eat and choose to eat vast amounts of sugar. The sugar industry is not actually selling them anything poisonous. It rather is gorging itself on our uncontrolled lust for sweetness. But research proves absolutely that refined sugar is utterly unnecessary and that its promotion and low cost is the single major cause for early and unnecessary death.
Is sugar banned? It kills thousands of times more people than banned drugs or drunk driving or war. Is a sugar ban even discussed seriously? Come on. Pull the other one. Governments and corporations still make a hefty profit from sugar. Sugar earns billions for them in taxes, employment and the circulation of wealth, is an opiate for the unwashed and the lifeblood of the soft drinks mega-mega corporations and main food industries.
An Industry Built On Sickness
Drugs taken by sugar-sick patients alone earn their makers billions – and then again there are the taxes they pay and people they employ, and the employees’ spending power. The health industry would lose one quarter of its clientele if there were no obesity. Billions of dollars lost. Even the funeral directors enjoy plenty of sweet treats. So, we cheerfully let ‘them’ all suffer and die fat – very fat. The world is over-populated anyway. Obese people rarely have kids and die young and earn us dollars – more than they cost. That is the bottom line. It is a no-brainer.
And remember no one needs a single grain of refined sugar. Nobody had seen the stuff until three centuries ago. Ordinary folk had not tasted it until about 150 years ago. With tobacco, cotton et al, it murdered black slaves and now is murdering us. An American consumes nearly his or her own weight of sugar each year – unless he is very overweight. This is why it is so often hidden on packet labels. And the excuse? We must not become nanny states. Each deserves his freedom to choose.
This is one minute example of the 2025 Dark Ages we inhabit. And a relatively benign one.
It proves to our leaders that even the concerned masses will never be able to organize themselves. Our rulers rule and ruin the world.
Nothing New Under the Sun
This has always been true and the same actors will ensure that it continues. Nothing other than the forceful removal of their entire class would allow change but that would be stupid and pointless. They will definitely be replaced by a new evil, greedy and selfish oligarchy created from the revolutionaries. Revolutions foster despotism. So, we must take it all with a spoon of sugar.
So, there is not even a slim chance that mankind will seriously even try to save itself. Now we could be ostriches and take solace in the sand – that sand being the wonderful life of the 21st century.
But that goes for mankind generally – them. What about you and at least your internal life? What about getting a life?
Simply discard the ridiculous value system with which you have been brainwashed and which has been created only to protect those destroying your world. You know for certain that logically and honestly that system has failed.
Seeking The Right Alternative
Now that we are, in secular terms, practically extinct, why not, as an experiment, apply the same logic and honesty to some alternative? Are there some indisputable facts which might open a new mindscape – a vista beyond this sad and grubby secular mess. You have learnt, there is a group of people [who used to comprise your very own family] who have, through intelligent and skeptical analysis, against all odds, maintained an exuberant and fulfilling life aware of but immune to the failed suicidal system.
If you are a responsible and concerned individual then you deserve to be an informed one. First, learn how inaccurate and twisted all the information you have about your forebears is. Read the proven facts – usually discovered by anti-religious secularists. From there, perhaps examine the invincible cerebral power and wisdom of your heritage – the Talmud. We need to reveal our true provenance and also then examine what precisely acceptable evidence is for our brief. In this we can later enjoy the nefarious activities of Megan the Witch, Dangerous Dan and other scurrilous villains.
Them Bones Speak Out: Archaeology and the Validation of Jewish History
You have now discovered indisputable facts that provide a sensible alternative, not merely an escape route of blind faith and desperation.
Archaeology, for so long the secularists’ machine-gun, now has its sights pointing in the opposite direction. It has not found one item or even hint, contradicting the Jewish ‘myth’ and it certainly cannot be accused of failing to try hard enough – especially in Israel. Rather, it has repeatedly validated Real Judaism’s dateline and claims – just as we found when we asked the opinion of Abraham’s ‘imaginary’ camels.
Now, we can discover how those who denigrated our account of our history are today forced to accept it because of their own digging. They have destroyed their own lies about the Jews – those very myths that you have always ‘known’ must be true and that underpin your world’s rejection of your people’s narrative.
There are triumphal Christian accounts of our being flayed alive for general amusement. Today, nearly all of us eagerly change our Jewish skin because of the prevailing advanced, civilized, sophisticated wisdom we all embrace. Historically, the nonsense about us would have been risible if it had not tended to end in barbecues, preceded by torture. The secularist myths about us today are equally nonsensical and no less tragic in their consequences.
The 2 Centuries of Modern Jewish Dark Ages
For two centuries, our mentors have been the scientists and secularists. Now they have destroyed not only their own families, societies and world, but also orphaned millions of Jews who believed them. And, with bitter irony, they themselves are digging up contradiction after contradiction to their past derision.
And it really is secular archaeology that has forced them to recant. You will learn that they have already pushed back the unambiguous proof of first, a healthy, ordered and probably unchanged version of Judaism to 1000 BCE, and secondly, the language Hebrew to 1300 BCE – our date for Sinai.
The Overconfident “Experts”
Yet, you will still read everywhere the experts’ confident statements, such as: ‘The stories of the patriarchs, the Exodus, the conquest of Canaan, and even the saga of …. David and Solomon …. are… the creative expressions of a powerful religious reform movement.’ Finkelstein, the most distinguished of the Israeli archaeologists, wrote this in 2001, unfortunately misled by the material available to him. He won universal acclaim for his brave honesty in admitting that, as the gentiles knew all along, our history and claim to the Land were yet another crafty Jewish lie.
Yet this very august author is now faced with new evidence apparently contradicting his words and theory. Equally bravely, he now talks in slightly different terms which indeed allow for the sudden appearance of Hebrews under Joshua in Canaan, supporting the Biblical narrative.
Never mind the Israelis, what of one very, very non-Israeli’s Keith Whiteham’s adamant guaranteed declaration – ‘There is no more ‘ancient Israel.’ History no longer has any room for it. This we know’.
And yet another soul, N.P Lemche, also not an Israeli, writes, ‘The Israelite nation as explained by the biblical writers has little in the way of a historical background. It is a highly ideological construct created by ancient scholars of Jewish tradition in order to legitimize their own religious community and its religio-political claims on land and religious exclusivity.’
Minimalistic Fools
These statements were, it would seem, proven impossible by the discoveries of their colleague, Flinders Petrie, as you will learn below a full century earlier!! They however had been misled by a weird modern upwelling of a long discredited creed.
This was ‘minimalism’ – a strange resurrection in the 1990s of 19th century Biblical Criticism and Wellhausen mania. Mega politically-correct Israelis joined forces with gentile colleagues in this very loose academic movement. They simply, as usual, said that the Bible was a load of old myths and had no real evidence. It was definitely concocted about 300 BCE by a religious oligarchy determined to justify the Jewish control of the Land and the rule of the Rabbis. This created a climate which influences even serious research today.
Indeed, it sounds persuasive until you examine the facts. If you want to take Israel back and give it to the Palestinians at least be honest about it. However, closing your eyes to irrebuttable evidence seems strange. Today, it is simply funny – because ‘Man, them stones jus’ scream out the truth’. And it is difficult to dismiss all the lumps of rock detailed here as being Mossad forgeries – although this was an early claim.
Minimalizing the Minimalists: Jewish Oral Law Comeback
Our minimalists have been proven utterly wrong. It was always normal to scoff openly at Talmudic Jews’ claim to any historical provenance because, to the secular Jews and non-Jews alike, we were primitive, medieval fantasists. Yet, the facts that follow are facts. There are academics who still pedal minimalism but even the serious establishment knows better. Today most minimalists simply grind their teeth and have moved on. Others simply shrug and continue to hold center stage without any admissions of earlier gaffs. They claim never to have dreamt of being minimalist – not even a tiny, weeny bit. The only accurate thing about this stupidity was the name in describing the minimal verisimilitude of their claim.
Remember all the sources that I use are from anti-religious and secular, scientifically-proven finds. No cackling dwarfs sporting fanatical ear locks, long black robes, scraggy beards, leering eyes, and hooked noses researched this lot. Every find proving us correct was made by a tall, fair-haired Aryan with a German accent, or a tall, fair-haired Aryan without a German accent or a non-Jew or at the very least, a staunchly non-religious Jew, probably not fair-haired or tall.
These are sources upon which one can rely. Their archaeological digging is intended to prove the secularists’ truth and yet, sadly, they are repeatedly horrified to uncover – our truth. They continue to excavate – and simply deepen their own intellectual graves. Their noble faith is so great they persevere – hoping to find a fossilized ham sandwich with King David’s teeth impressions or an ostracon birth certificate that proves he was not ‘King David’ but just some guy whose first (Christian) forename was ‘King’ and surname ‘David’. There was no monarch called David, just this cool guy called King.
Remarkable fortitude, faith or perhaps – the normal Jewish/Israeli default – extreme OCD?
